Read previous post on case here.

Trial could not proceed as scheduled in the criminal charge filed against the former director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, Former Minister Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited pending before Justice Hassan sitting in the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court. Trial which commenced on the 21st of October 2016 had been scheduled to continue on the 14th and 15th of November 2016. The trial could however not continue due to the absence of Mr. Fani-Kayode who was still in detention in Abuja having failed to meet his bail conditions after his re-arrest by the EFCC at the time.

Justice Hassan who was once a prosecutor with the Ministry of Justice and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission expressed displeasure at the arrest of Mr. Fani-Kayode in the court premises at the conclusion of the hearing of the charge on the 21st of October 2016 and his detention for twenty-one days by the Commission before arraigning him before Hon. Justice Tsoho of the Abuja division of the Federal High Court. He however restrained himself from making further comments on the issue in order not to prejudice any application or suit Mr. Fani-Kayode may file.

The suit has been adjourned to the 12th of December 2016 for continuation of trial.
